An elderly man died after being hit by an ambulance on PR-090, known as Estrada do Cerne, in the neighborhood of Bateias, in Campo Largo, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, on Friday evening (31). According to the driver, after completing a curve he was unable to avoid the crash because the victim was walking on the road.
The pedestrian did not have documents and had the characteristics of a walker. Emergency services were called, but when they arrived the man was already dead.
“He was already dead when we arrived. He had few injuries, but he suffered a serious head injury. The driver was quite nervous. Unfortunately he ended up hitting this citizen who was walking on the road”, explained Corporal Vagner of the Fire Brigade.
