Taron Egerton (‘Kingsman’) Confirms Talks With Marvel About Wolverine

“Hopefully, if it happens, they’ll give me a chance.”

Taron Egerton (‘Kingsman’, ‘Rocketman’) has confronted (again) the rumors that place him as one of the actors who could replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. But this time, things have been a little more hopeful.

Egerton has now publicly confirmed that he has met with Marvel Studios to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.during an interview with the New York Times.

He revealed that he met with Marvel Studios executives, including company president Kevin Feige, and regarding his ambitions to be the next Wolverine, he said, “I don’t think it’s wrong to say that. I would be excited, but I would also be apprehensive, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I wonder if it would be very difficult for someone else to do it.“.

We remember that thanks to Disney, Marvel Studios obtained the film rights to all the characters of X-Men and The Fantastic Four.

Marvel hasn’t revealed any plans to focus attention on Wolverine in upcoming Marvel movies and series, but Taron said, “Hopefully, if it happens, they’ll give me a chance.”

Marvel’s desire for an all-new Wolverine has left fans wondering who will play the classic superhero next, and Egerton has long been the subject of this speculation. He has been persistently denying these rumors, until now.

Egerton isn’t the only one who has been acknowledging speculation that he will play Wolverine, with Daniel Radcliffe making it clear that a joke he made in 2019 was nothing more than that, a joke.

Though veteran Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman has retired from mutant life and hung up his claws, Disney’s purchase of Fox’s entertainment assets has opened up all sorts of possibilities for the character.
