Sons of Anarchy star ditches violence for new series

Many know him as Jax Teller in the series Sons of Anarchy. Charlie Hunnam returns to the small screen with Criminal, a Prime Video series adapted from the graphic novel of the same name written by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. The project is described as “The intertwining world of detective stories“.

The British actor plays Leo, a master thief who specializes in schemes without guns or violence. He is always three steps ahead. The character lives in the shadow of his father, Tom, who is imprisoned for the murder of Tag Lawless, the scariest man in town.

Charlie Hunnam joins Richard Jenkins, recently seen in the Netflix series Dahmer, Adria Arjona (Hit Man) and Kadeem Hardison (Vampire Brooklyn) in the project’s cast.

After the end of Sons of Anarchy, the actor devoted himself mainly to cinema. Charlie Hunnam has worked with Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak), James Gray (The Lost City of Z) and Guy Ritchie (King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur and The Gentlemen). Most recently, he appeared in the first part of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, which is available on Netflix.
