Scream 6 was the first film in the iconic slasher horror franchise to not feature Sidney Prescott, the protagonist played by Neve Campbell.
Known for playing Sydney Prescott in the first five films of the slasher horror franchise Panic, Neve Campbell revealed how he was very “sad” about not participating in the cast of the sixth entry in the saga.
It is worth remembering how the artist did not appear in Scream 6released on March 9, 2023 in Brazilian cinemas, because she did not reach an agreement regarding the salary, which she judged to be very low due to her importance in the previous films.
Even with this lack of agreement, Campbell confirmed return to the role of Sidney in Panic7, which does not yet have a defined release date, in March 2024. During an interview with Peopleshe spoke about her decision to return to the franchise.
“These movies have been a big part of my life and they mean a lot to me, and I was sad to miss the last one, to not be a part of it,” he said. “I was very grateful that they came back to me in a respectful way.”
I think this means a lot to women and society. I’m grateful to be able to put myself in the shoes of Sidney again and tell her story.
Finally, Neve Campbell explained how Sydney Prescott “inspired a lot of people” by being very strong: “I know a lot of fans who say her strength helped them get through difficult times, and it means more than I could have ever imagined to some people.”
