If the release of each season of Stranger Things is an event, Season 4 broke all records — until Netflix’s platform was disrupted once Volume 2 was released on July 1. The last two episodes offer an epic conclusion, but above all it sets the stage for the fifth season, which will be the last.
For the creators, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, the work has only just begun. In Interview The duo explained to Collider that writing for season 5 will begin in the first week of August. This means filming in 2023 and therefore a release the following year.
For this final season, the showrunners want to pay tribute to their heroes: “We want everyone to have their moment. (…) We want to be sure that they have an ending that will live up to our expectations.” The makers have already confirmed that there will be a time jump in season 5.
