If the release of each season of Stranger Things is an event, Season 4 broke all records — until Netflix’s platform was disrupted once Volume 2 was released on July 1. The last two episodes offer an epic conclusion, but above all it sets the stage for the fifth season, which will be the last.
For the creators, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, the work has only just begun. In Interview The duo explained to Collider that writing for season 5 will begin in the first week of August. This means filming in 2023 and therefore a release the following year.
For this final season, the showrunners want to pay tribute to their heroes: “We want everyone to have their moment. (…) We want to be sure that they have an ending that will live up to our expectations.” The makers have already confirmed that there will be a time jump in season 5.
Although nothing has been written yet, the duo already have a very accurate idea of the final moments of the series. “The last 20 minutes have already been decided“, he adds Ross Duffer. In another interview, the two brothers even revealed that they shed a few tears while discussing the Season 5 storylines.
It remains to be seen if this final installment will be as dark and dramatic as Season 4. We can hope that the creators will offer us new iconic moments.
