James Cameron is not worried about avatar trolls: “They saw the movie and it happened” – Exclusive

It’s inevitable: whenever someone or something reaches gigantic levels of success, it always generates some kind of backlash. And so, while James Cameron Avatar became the biggest box office hit of all time in 2009, racking up box office receipts of $ 2.84 billion and counting, surpassing ending of the Avengers after a re-release in China in 2021, and will add to that total when it returns to theaters here in September: there are many people who like to disparage the sci-fi epic, questioning its longevity, relevance and quality, since as well as the wish for Cameron’s next sequel quartet. But there is a reason for the former Avatar it made so much money in the first place, and the director himself doesn’t care what some sections of the internet might say about it.

talk to Empire to the next world exclusive Avatar: The way of water Cameron responded to criticism that people tend to push the first film. “The trolls will say that nobody cares and they can’t remember the names of the characters or some fucking thing that happened in the movie,” he says. “Then they watch the movie again and say, ‘Oh, okay, sorry, shut me up now. So I’m not worried about that.”

Cameron isn’t worried either, and he’s not turning around when it comes to big movie runtimes either. the original Avatar recorded 160 minutes in his theatrical version, while the path of water it is currently arriving around three o’clock. “I don’t want anyone complaining about the length when they sit down and binge [television] for eight hours, “he said.” I can almost write that part of the review. ‘The horribly long three-hour movie …’ It’s like, give me a fucking break. I watched my kids sit down and do five episodes of a ‘ now in a row. Here’s the big change in social paradigm that has to happen: it’s okay to get up and go pee. ” Who will argue against a director with so much form for turning epic three-hour films into record-breaking box office giants?
