It’s a fact that can’t be avoided by setting foot there: Even when he goes to talk about a project that’s far from him, the actor or actress is bound to be asked questions about a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even when his character is dead (Robert Downey Jr. confirms this) or when he’s not really central to the story.
And this is about Daniel Bruhl. The German-Spanish actor who played Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War and the subsequent Falcon and the Winter Soldier series will be Karl Lagerfeld starting Friday, June 7 on Disney+. So it was only natural that he was asked if it was possible to see him in the MCU one day, even though he is not officially attached to any project.
“That’s fine with me, I can wait.”– he answers with a laugh ScreenRant. “I’m a patient person. No, it’s not like that. But it’s funny because, at the same time, I finished filming the series called Franchise which is a satire of the superhero world, so it was fun to go to the other side, so to speak.”
“Knowing Marvel, they have a lot of humor, so I think they’ll be as funny as I am. And then who knows? I’m not dead yet, so I believe in a comeback.” Can we expect a cameo in Thunderbolts* when his absence from the central team has surprised more than one fan who has read the comics in which he has a prominent role?
Return to Marvel in 2025?
Unless it ends up being Captain America: Brave New World, currently in the middle of filming. Which would make sense since it belongs to that branch of the MCU, on the small screen and the big screen. And it would be, for Zemo, an opportunity to meet Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), the new owner of the Star Shield.
In one (or even both) of these films, Daniel Bruhl would return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025, as Captain America 4 hits theaters on February 12th and Thunderbolts* on April 30th. .
