Netflix confirms Peaky Blinders film with return of Cillian Murphy

Almost two years after the end of the series, Peaky Blinders(2013-2022) will get a film, which should present a new chapter in the story of the Irish gang run by the family Shelby. This Tuesday (4), Netflix confirmed the news, which had been speculated for a few years, with the return of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby.

What do we know about the film? Peaky Blinders?

According to the Variety, Murphy will also serve as producer of the film Peaky Blinderswhile Tom Harperwho has already directed episodes of the series and, recently, directed Agent Stone (2023), also from Netflix, will lead the production:

“Looks like Tommy Shelby it didn’t end with me… It’s very gratifying to collaborate with Steve Knight [criador da série] It is Tom Harper in the film version of Peaky Blinders. This one’s for the fans”declared the actor in a press release.

Harper also commented on the news: “When I drove Peaky Blinders For the first time over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we knew there was something about the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive.”he said.

“Peaky has always been a story about family – and so it’s incredibly exciting to reunite with Steve and Cillian to bring the film to audiences around the world on Netflix.”added the filmmaker.

What it is Peaky Blinders?

According to the official synopsis of the series, Peaky Blindersaddresses the day-to-day life of a notorious gang from 1919 England, which rises in the criminal underworld led by the cruel Tommy Shelby, a criminal willing to get ahead at any price.
