The Netflix production will tell the story of a dog named Amendoim, directed by Diego Freitas
A craze among Brazilians, the caramel-colored dog will become a national film on Netflix. The streaming service has announced the production of “Caramelo”, which tells the story of a cute stray.
The news was announced on the Netflix panel during the Rio 2C event, with a candy dog appearing on stage. The animal represented the protagonist of the production, Peanut, and behaved in an exemplary manner, even in front of a large audience.
“It’s a film that excites and entertains. It was difficult to find the canine cast of the production, but everything worked,” joked Gabriel Gurman, director of content for fiction films at Netflix.
The director of the film will be Diego Freitas, author of the feature film “O Lado Bom de Ser Traída”, released on the platform in October last year.
Despite the announcement of the news, the new Netflix production does not have a defined release date.
