The event is expected to focus more on the previously revealed games, but its organizer, Geoff Keighley, promises some surprises for viewers
OR Summer Games Festival 2024 takes place on June 7th, and many gamers are eagerly awaiting a new wave of big announcements for consoles and PC. However, this year is shaping up to be a little different, with fewer bombastic announcements, no scheduled release date, and a greater focus on titles already in a more advanced state of development.
Geoff Keighley, organizer of the event, revealed this some highly anticipated titles will not be part of the presentation, such as GTA 6, Wolf Among Us 2, Hollow Knight: Song of the Silk, Kingdom Hearts 4 and the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3called Metal Gear Solid Delta. Other games Keighley mentions that can now be discarded are Down fromnew game from the creator of Bioshockand anything related to Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Taking this into consideration, many have started to wonder what we should expect from Summer Game Fest 2024. There are some titles that could steal the show on June 7th.
Metaphor: ReFantazio

One of the games confirmed at Summer Game Fest 2024 is Metaphor: ReFantazionew RPG from the same team behind the franchise Person. With the release scheduled for October 2024, it’s fitting that Atlus uses SGF to reveal more about the title, which still impresses many players with the beauty of its pause menu too (seriously).
Additionally, Atlus has confirmed that it will hold a second presentation, later on Friday, dedicated just to showing off more of the game. So if you’re a fan of JRPGs, you better be prepared for the flood of new features.

Another title confirmed in Geoff Keighley’s presentation is The kingdom comes to liberation 2continuation of the 2018 action game. The title, which continues the adventures of the main character presented in the original title, should continue to be a sort of first-person medieval life simulation, with complex but very rewarding combat.
The kingdom comes to liberation 2 is expected to be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, but its date has not yet been confirmed, which could be revealed during the Summer Game Fest.
Monster Hunter Wilds

Sharp headhorror game from the creators of silent Hill AND Siren, was announced in 2021, but no major news has been revealed since then. This should end on June 7th, as Geoff Keighley has confirmed the game’s presence at the Summer Game Fest.

According to the organizer of the SGF, the first gameplay trailer of the game will be presented, which should be released for PC, Xbox Series S/X and PS5.
Alan Wake 2 DLC
Another almost confirmed presence at Summer Game Fest 2024 is Alan Wake 2 and its DLC, Night sources. With small teasers on Remedy Entertainment’s social networks, a reveal was promised on the 7th. Alan Wake 2 during The Game Awards, an event also organized by Geoff Keighley, it is fitting that your DLC is presented at the SGF.

Night sources is the name of a TV show in the Alan Wake universe, basically an imitation of The twilight zone. It is expected that the DLC will explore more stories within this program that should influence the “real” world of the game.
New Tomb Raider

In recent months, some rumors have spread about a new title. tomb Raideralready in an advanced state of development, and with a possible launch for 2025. Like the Amazon Games, which would be behind the project, has a guaranteed presence at Summer Game Fest 2024, there is a possibility that the game, which could be open world, will be revealed during the event.
