Netflix announced on Tuesday (5/7) that “Stranger Things 4” has surpassed one billion hours of worldwide viewing on the platform.

According to the streamer’s official data, “Stranger Things” has been viewed for 1.15 billion hours since its May 27 premiere.

The Duffer Brothers Creation is the first English-language series to exceed the billion mark. In terms of any language, “Stranger Things 4” is second only to “Round 6” (1.6 billion).

One detail, however, stands out.

The tally covers the two parts of season 4, which is atypical in the platform’s accounting, which always ends its total after 28 days of airing. Apparently, the science fiction series is an exception to the rule, as it added up the two-volume audience.

The first seven episodes totaled 930.32 million hours, while the last two chapters represent approximately 221 million hours accumulated between May 27 and July 3.

It is important to explain that the last two episodes have only been available for a few days (from July 1st) and, although they are long, they only have four hours of content. Even so, they represent 73% of all viewers of the series last week.

In addition to leading the charts for the most viewed English-language series of all time, “Stranger Things 4” also returned to the top of Netflix’s charts this week, after losing its spot due to the release of “The Umbrella Academy.” ” last week .

With the combined audience of Part 1 and Part 2, the attraction hit 301.28 million hours in the last week, giving “The Umbrella Academy” a large lead, which came in 2nd place with 87.9 million hours watched, after nine days on the air.
