Engine and battery of the new plug-in hybrid Mercedes
The first Mercedes with plug-in hybrid powertrain and F1 technology on sale in Brazil has the same combustion engine in the mechanical set. Both the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance and the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance have a 4.0 twin-turbo V8 under the hood, which delivers 612 HP in the “lightest” version and 639 HP in the most “gritty”, the GT. The mechanical package also includes a 2-speed gearbox connected to the electric motor, as well as a 9-speed gearbox integrated into the twin-turbo V8. The battery capacity is 13.1 kgf/m in the S 63 version, which guarantees 33 km of electric range, and 6.1 kWh in the GT, which guarantees only 12 km in these conditions.

According to the German brand, both plug-in Mercedes offer eight driving modes, from the most economical to the most sporty, as well as air suspension with sports shock absorbers.
