Flamengo fans create the flag of the 6-1 over Vasco

The Rossoneri brought the flag to the Under 17 match and are already preparing to decorate the stands of the Maracanã on Thursday

Flamengo’s 6-1 defeat against Vasco, on 2/6, inspired the creation of a flag by the Rossoneri fans. Thus, the large red fabric has acquired characters and designs in black, which immortalize the elastic scoreboard that has entered the memory of the Gávea club. After all, it was Mengão’s biggest defeat against Cruz-Maltino in history.

At the top, the flag shows the date of the match. It then shows the 2nd, the month of June in the form of the number SEI – written in capital letters – and the year 2024. Below are drawings of each player who filled the net at the Maracanã. That is Everton Cebolinha, Pedro and David Luiz, who scored the goals in the first phase. In addition to them, Arrascaeta, Bruno Henrique and Gabigol, who completed the triumph in the second half. By the way, the flag indicates the exact minute of each goal and the style of the celebration. Gabigol is thus portrayed kissing the shield, as he did when he scored the goal that guaranteed Flamengo’s record victory over Vasco.

And under the flag it says “O Abandono pt 2” – a reference to the fact that Vasco fans left the stadium before the end of the match, such was their disappointment with the team. Furthermore, it was considered “part 2” because Vasco had already been beaten by Flamengo 4-1 on 6/5/2023, in the Brasileirão, again at the Maracanã. And, similarly, on that occasion, the São Januário fans went home early, without waiting for the end of the match.

Bandeirão will be at Maracanã

The 6-1 flag was unveiled in the stands of Gávea during the first match of the Copa Rio Under 17 final between Flamengo and Vasco, this Saturday (8/6). Rubro-Negro won the match 2-1 and the flag served as a provocation from the beginning of the clash. Now the fans intend to bring the flag to the Maracanã, for Flamengo’s match against Grêmio. The match, for the Brasileirão, will take place on Thursday (13/6), at 8pm (Brasilia time), for the Brasileirão.
