Drops of God on France 2: Will there be a season 2?

After two evenings on air, France 2 will broadcast the last two episodes of the American-French-Japanese series Les Gouttes de Dieu, based on the manga of the same name, this Monday, June 10 at 21:10. Tadashi Agi. Led by a rather incongruous duo of characters played by Fleur Geffrier as Camille and Tomohisa Yamashita as Issei, the series amazes with its originality.

Camille, French, impulsive and passionate, competes with Issei, Japanese, very calm and strict. They both have competition from Alexandre Léger (Stanley Weber), Camille’s father, who recently passed away and was a great expert in the world of wine.

While he was no longer in touch with his daughter and spent his life in Japan, Alexander took Issei under his wing and considered him his spiritual son. Before his death, he developed an incredible competition between Camille and Isse to determine which of the two is more worthy of inheriting his extraordinary wine collection. This competition ends tonight with the broadcast of the last episode of the series.

Is a second season possible?

Created by Quoc Dang Tran from a script by Quoc Dang Tran, Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat and Alice Vial, Les Gouttes de Dieu was first presented by Apple TV+ (which acquired the international rights) as a mini-series.

But now you can pour another glass of toast. Because Apple TV+ announced on May 21 that the series has been renewed for Season 2. Here’s what the sequel has to offer, according to the platform’s press release:

“In the second season of Gouttes de Dieu, Camille (Flore Geffrier) and Issei (Tomohisa Yamashita) are again faced with an almost impossible challenge: discovering the origin of the world’s most beautiful wine, a secret that even Alexandre Léger could not solve. break through Through a series of trials and tribulations, their quest takes them to the farthest corners of the world, forcing them to confront their inner demons and change them forever.“

As with the first season, Oded Ruskin ( No Man’s Land ) will direct, but the press release did not specify whether Quoc Dang Tran will remain at the helm or when the series will go into production.
