Not just on social media, Little reindeer he also ended up in court. Recently, the woman accused of being a stalker in the real world filed a lawsuit against Netflix, claiming that the facts depicted in the production are lies.
In the series, the character presented as a stalker is Martha, but in the real world her name is Fiona Harvey. Through social media, she was identified by fans of the series shortly after the premiere and she claims that Richard Gadd lied about what happened.
Gadd created, directed and played himself in the series (in which he goes by Donny). The comedian claims that the series is based on his true story, when he was chased for years by a stalker.
