The victim said she was pregnant and asked to go to hospital due to bleeding, when she was attacked
Summary
Igor Costa Campos, 39, was arrested for causing bodily harm to his pregnant girlfriend in the city of Salvador. Hilda Francine reported that he assaulted and humiliated her while she tried to escape. Igor’s defense denies the charges.
Igor Costa Campos, 39, arrested for causing bodily harm to his pregnant girlfriend, who threw herself from the fifth floor of a building in Salvador, laughed and humiliated the victim by hitting her. The information was provided by the victim to the police and confirmed by her in an interview on the Encontro program, on TV Globo, this Thursday 13th.
Hilda Francine, 27, said during the interview that Igor started the attacks because she had hemorrhaged on Sunday the 9th while she was pregnant, and asked him to take her to hospital, fearing that she would lose the baby. The man began punching, kicking, kicking, “flying” and biting the woman, knocking her to the ground and dragging her by her hair.
“He was teasing me all the time, laughing at me, humiliating me, cursing me, just calling me bad things,” she reported. She says she asked him to leave, but he wouldn’t let her. “He said, ‘You’re already dead. Realize that you are already dead.’”
This was confirmed by the Court of Justice of Bahia Earth which converted Igor’s arrest into preventive detention. His defense denies the assault charges.
“Since there is a bedroom and a living room, the moment he went to the living room, I locked the bedroom door and took out my cell phone to try to call. That was the moment I saw that he was trying to open the door, because he had the key, and I saw that my only option was that window. I didn’t see if it was the fifth floor, if it was high, if it was nothing, I just wanted to save myself,” says the victim.
According to her, Igor had used drugs before the episode. “I lived in a private prison, he watched my conversations, I never left the house without him. He changed my SIM from Maceió to here (Salvador),” she said.

“He never said he wanted to leave me, he just said he would kill me. The more I suffered… she beat me from Saturday to Sunday, I couldn’t even speak anymore. She would slam her forehead against mine, grab me by the hair, tie me in a knot and throw me from side to side. I was trying to pack and he threw my things, he was completely out of control. He showered me with beer, he sat on my stomach and punched me in the stomach. I just cried out to God.”
Igor’s defense claims that he did not attack Hilda and that he “tried to restrain” the woman when she locked herself in the room and jumped out of the window.
Investigation
The report of Earth had access to the Court’s decision. According to the document, Igor was motivated by jealousy and claimed that the victim had stayed with his acquaintances. According to her, none of this had happened.
Pregnant, Hilda went to Maceió, her hometown, and made a video call with Igor. During the call, he appeared with two men and two women, which would have made Hilda nervous as she believed she was being cheated on. She therefore returned to Salvador and had some bleeding while she was traveling on the bus. The two argued, but there was no aggression.
The victim and Igor left on Sunday the 9th and when they returned, Hilda fell asleep, while Igor remained awake, asked her if she had stayed with someone she knew and started attacking her. The man was under the influence of cocaine, marijuana and alcohol, the victim told authorities.
Hilda requested protective measures against the attacker and stated that he had a firearm, which he had already used to threaten her.
What the defense says
Igor’s defense was requested, but did not return until this report was published. The space remains open for demonstrations.
