Peacemaker | James Gunn resumes filming season two

Director James Gunn confirmed on his Instagram that filming on the second season of Pacificador (Max series) has already begun.

Director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) announced last Thursday (13th) that it had resumed recording Pacifier, a Max series that is preparing to premiere its second season on a date yet to be announced. Confirmation came via the Instagram by Gunn (@jamesgunn), who posted a photo with a series-themed mug.

The production is a spin off of the film The suicide squad – again directed by Gunn –, centered on the title character, an explosive man who, ironic as it may seem, still seeks peace, even if he needs to use violence to do so.

Played by John Cena (Fast & Furious), the character explores doubt, sometimes being a bad guy, sometimes a good guy. At his side are Robert Patrick as his father, Steve Agee as John, Danielle Brooks as Leota and Jennifer Holland as Emilia, a group of friends who help him make the right decisions while using the government intelligence to try to save the people of the United States.

So far, the series has achieved a 94% approval rating from the experts at Rotten Tomatoes, a spectacular result, which opens up opportunities for the second season to reach a good audience. It also performed well with audiences, receiving 89% positive reviews.

What to expect from Peacemaker season 2?

Details of the new episodes have not yet been released, but the director assured that the opening of the new season will be different, “but equally magnificent”.

Fans, however, will have to wait a while to see it. This is because the second wave of chapters will only arrive to Max in 2025, after the film’s premiere. Superman: Legacyalso directed by Gunn.
