Gold medalist in Tokyo-2020 and silver in Rio-2016, as well as two-time paralympic judo world champion, Alana Maldonado is the host of the new episode of Sem Limites.
During the program, Alana Maldonado talked about her beginnings in sports. Supported by her family, especially her grandparents, she even moved to the city of Caçador, in Santa Catarina, to play football at Kindermann. A serious leg fracture made her change her plans and return to judo, which was her first sport in the gym where her grandmother worked.

However, she imagined she would have to give up her dream of becoming an athlete when she discovered the disease that made her visually impaired. However, she discovered Paralympic judo and began competing in 2015. Just over a year later, she won a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
However, everything was not rosy in the athlete’s path, who suffered a lot, especially at school and university after discovering his visual deficit. In Sem Limites, she described in detail the things that happened to her at that time.
Persevering and resilient, Alana Maldonado overcame all this and managed to dedicate herself to this sport. She was world champion in 2018 and 2022, as well as winning the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Among many successes, Alana Maldonado also suffered numerous injuries, especially to her knee. In 2022 she had a very difficult year, she suffered from depression and she even thought about retiring her kimono. But the judoka has recovered from all this and is preparing diligently to arrive in Paris able to fight for her second Paralympic championship.
