The third season of Bridgerton is over! Part two, released online on Thursday, June 13, concluded the love story of Penelope Fetherington and Colin Bridgerton. But it also introduced a twist that many fans didn’t see coming.
In the final moments of the season, Francesca (Hannah Dodd) prepares to move to Scotland with her husband John Sterling (Victor Alley). But when John’s cousin, Michaela Sterling (Masali Baduzza), unexpectedly arrives to join them in the Highlands, Francesca is very upset.
In Francesca’s book, while in volume six, a young woman falls in love with Michael, John’s cousin, after the latter’s untimely death. Bridgerton Season 3 thus changed the character’s gender to Michaela, thus revealing that Francesca is a queer character.
