Maya learns the truth about her parents’ accident
At the park, Vic and Malik repeat to Leonard what they heard the other day: Antoine forces Quentin to tell Maya the whole truth after the exams are over. If Malik is now in favor of warning the young girl, Leonard still thinks it’s best to follow Miriel’s advice not to skip a year.
The trio then go to the workshop where Jimmy and Maya are training against Quentin. Both boys are under pressure for different reasons. Jim must get a good grade to be able to stay at the institute, and Quentin must pass the third-year exam to be able to take the graduate exam. Vicky, Leonard, and Malik notice that the flow seems to be going well between Maya and her brother, who go to the commissary together. Malik is the only one who finds it suspicious.
At the commissary, Maya tells Quentin about her failed attempt to remake her father’s famous zucchini fritters. Quentin suggests that they do some more together after the exams. Calmly, Maya takes the opportunity to question her brother about his memories of the accident that cost their parents their lives. Quentin says he only has pieces. At Maya’s insistence, he violently turns and leaves.
In the locker room, Maya confides in Vic about Quentin’s reaction when he brought up the subject. This causes him to suspect that she is hiding something from him. Since then, Maya has not stopped asking questions about the causes of the accident. Vicki confirms that she is right to be wary of her brother and tells him what she overheard the other day in Leroy’s office.
The girls return to their room at the boarding school. Maya contacts former teachers from her home as well as ASE in hopes of getting details about the circumstances of the accident, while Vicky encourages her to ask Quentin directly. However, Maya gets answers to her questions.
Cuddled in bed, crying, Maya waits for Leonard to join them to reveal what she’s learned: it was Quentin who caused the accident that killed their parents…
Billy finds it difficult to support Hippolyte
David and Bill meet in the swamp room to practice before the final exam. David asks his partner to be open-minded about his chosen coach, who is none other than Hippolyte. The latter wants them to work on the carpaccio. Bill thinks it’s a very simple recipe.
However, two students started working. Hippolyte notices that David doesn’t cut the meat properly, and Bill doesn’t cut the comte correctly, within a few millimeters. If David corrects his mistake, Billy argues against Hippolyte that this recipe is too easy. The head waiter then points out that they can never be strict about a complicated recipe, unless they can be strict about a simple recipe.
During practice, Hippolyte points out to Billy that he is focusing too much on the appearance of his plate and that he lacks technique. She explains to him that sobriety can bring elegance. Bill takes it personally and starts to get annoyed. David sets them both up again, then urges them to get back to work.
At the end of the day, David and Bill are tired. They realize that after six attempts they keep making mistakes. But Hippolytus assures them that they have the perfect level to pass the exams. In particular, he urges Billy to take the chance that his own wife, Madeleine, a great chef in oblivion, never had. The young girl is moved by his story.
Lionel wants to propose to Kelly
At the park, Jasmine is already planning to go see Kelly when she’s in Brittany. Still, she admits she’s hesitant to go, with Lionel, who needs her as moral support to try again at the Masters, but also with her mother, who will probably find it hard to keep their distance. Jasmine encourages Kelly to do what’s best for her without pleasing others.
Meanwhile, Lionel goes to the management office looking for Antoine. He meets Laetitia and notices that she is at his pumps. Believing that Leticia is afraid of Kelly going to Brittany, Lionel sympathizes and makes a mistake.
Laetitia rushes to her daughter to beg her not to go to Brittany. In return, Kelly offers to come with her to work with Dinar in the dining room of Salome’s restaurant. Nevertheless, he specifies that he has not yet made a final decision, especially regarding Lionel. Laetitia confirms to her daughter that the young man is suffering because of this.
After learning that Lionel has spoken to his mother about his supposed departure, Kelly is furious. She shows up at the roommate where her boyfriend is hanging out with Jude to criticize her for never thinking about the consequences of her actions. He then packs his things to go to his mother’s house for the night. After Kelly leaves, Jude is struck by Lionel’s calm demeanor. The latter claims that he already has a solution to fix the situation: ask Kelly to marry him!
