Expected to hit our theaters on December 14, “Avatar: Waterway,” the sequel to the biggest hit of all time, is expected to be three hours long, according to its director James Cameron.
There were vague statements. The false starts and delays that left him reeling. But this time it’s correct: Avatar 2 will be released at the end of the year worldwide and on December 14 in France (if the pandemic does not intervene again). Disney has confirmed the date, released the first images, and the James Cameron film is the cover of today’s new issue.Empire.
It is on the pages of an English magazine that the director claims that Avatar: The Way of Water should last three hours, against “only” Two hours and fifty-two minutes for the first opus, which was released in 2009. And James Cameron clearly doesn’t want to hear viewers whine about it.
“I don’t want to hear anyone complain about the length of time they’re sitting down to watch eight hours of television.”he says. “I can write this part of the review already. ‘Three hours of this horribly long movie.’ Getting up before urinating.”
Longevity aside, it remains to be seen if Avatar 2 will have more box office success than 1, the biggest hit of all time with $2.847 billion worldwide. See you later in the year in theaters (and on Pandora) to find out.
