Tonight on Netflix: Mark Wahlberg and his 3 brothers in an intense thriller inspired by the western John Wayne

Netflix subscribers ranked this 2000s thriller as the fourth most-watched movie on the platform. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Tyrese Gibson, it offers viewers a good dose of action, not to mention heart. It’s called Four Brothers and Be Careful, a dark film.

Revenge on the street

Story ? The four remaining people, abandoned by their families, find a “mother” in the person of Evelyn Mercer, the only one who believes in them, accepts them and loves them. They create a new family together. But when Evelyn is shot by two robbers while she’s out shopping, the four brothers reunite and decide to catch those responsible without the police.

You may recognize Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Andre Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund among the four brothers. The police officers are played by Terrence Howard and Josh Charles, and we can also recognize Sofia Vergara, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Taraji P. Henson and Fionnula Flanagan from “Elioza Lost” in supporting roles…enough to fill in on the famous faces!

Released in 2005, Four Brothers is directed by John Singleton (Boyz’n the Hood, Street Law, 2 Fast 2 Furious) and based on the story of Kathy Elder’s four sons, a western with John Wayne and Dean Martin released in St. 1965, directed by Henry Hathaway, in which four children seek revenge for the death of their father and mother, who are victims of fraud.

Four Brothers has a basic script, some of its dialogue improvised during filming, but offers solid entertainment for those who like thrillers, where the story is an excuse, aimed primarily at realizing the general atmosphere and the charisma of the actors. Other films that fall into this category might be David Ayer’s End of the Night (2008) or James Wan’s Death Sentence (2007).
