Malik allows Maya to open her eyes
After passing the exams, students gather in the amphitheater to announce the results. All students received an average, which means that no one is excluded. As for the top students in each class, they are Tom, Kelly and Jasmine for the third year, David, Bill and Vicki for the second year, and Leonard, Malik, Maya and Suleiman for the first years. The latter will be decided during the additional event.
Then Maya enjoys the park with Leonard. Quentin comes to say goodbye to them and makes sure he won’t be back at the start of the school year. As she leaves, Leonard encourages Maya to catch up with him, knowing she’s always dreamed of starting a family. But Maya doesn’t want to hear anything. He needs his best friend to be there for him.
In order not to rob him, Leonardo does not insist. However, he will talk to Malik, who also thinks it’s a shame that Maya let her brother go without trying to fix things. As he did the day before for Leonard, who saved Quentin from Maya’s sabotage of the exams, Malik intends to provoke the young woman to change her mind.
While Leonard goes to see Quentin to ask him to fight for his sister, namely to tell him the truth about the accident that cost their parents, Malik goes to the studio where Maya works to tell him the truth. She calls him self-centered, unable to see the pain of others—in this case, the pain of his brother, who has to deal with the guilt of killing his parents every day. Malik urges Maya to support Quentin at the risk of regretting it when he’s gone.
Thanks to Malik, Maya actually changes her mind. He goes to Leroy’s where Quentin is packing his things to leave. He asks her to tell him the truth about the accident. Quentin says he was playing on his tablet in the back of the car and didn’t want to share it. When their father tried to take the tablet out of his hand to end their argument, Quentin got angry and shot him in the face. After that, their father lost control of the car. Since then, Quentin has lived with the guilt of killing his parents. Maya assures him that it wasn’t her fault. Quentin explains that he always wanted to reconnect with her, but he had to make amends first. And it was the dish that saved him.
Calmed by this discussion, Maya and Quentin go out for a drink together at a cafe downtown. Leonard joins them, happy that his best friend seems to be doing better. Maya admits that she clicked thanks to what Malik told her. After that, Leonard explains to him that the latter knew very well what he was doing, just like when he condemned himself in his place the day before. Maya wonders why Malik would do this to her. Leonard states that Malik is a good guy and that he has feelings for him…
Will Kelly agree to marry Lionel?
At the roommate, Lionel confides in Jasmine that he was going to propose to Kelly. He finds the young woman a bit rash because they are still young. But it seems that Lionel is sure of himself. So Jasmine agrees to do her a favor and take Kelly to the garden at 6pm.
During the day, Lionel can count on the help of Judy and Enzo to prepare a romantic picnic. Around 6 pm everything is ready. Lionel feels the stress building, but he is determined. As agreed, Jasmine took Kelly there.
Lionel then launches into a grand declaration of love before getting down on one knee to propose to Kelly. Moved, the latter replies that marriage will not solve all their problems. In fact, Lionel still has no intention of following her to Brittany. That’s why Kelly can’t stand his request. After apologizing, she leaves, leaving Lionel heartbroken.
Rose has a fascinating encounter
At Double A, Rose and Constance have dinner together to reflect on their summer vacation with Carla and Berenice. Rose then notices a lone man sitting at a nearby table staring at her. A few minutes later, Billy arrives to serve them glasses of champagne, which the man offered.
Rose decides to return the favor, but by choosing champagne, which is not on the menu and is usually reserved for the best customers. Bill explains this to her when he brings her in, explaining that Rose is the daughter of the institute’s founder. The man who was preparing to return the favor to Rose once again preferred to bow. Bill then tells her about the dessert menu and lets slip that Rose is single.
After lunch, a customer invites Rose to the counter for coffee. He tells her what Billy told him about him before introducing himself: his name is Paul Garnier and he recently moved to the area after retiring. He then suggests to Rose that they meet again the next day for a drink, which she readily accepts.
