Set in the 23rd century, the show follows the crew of the starship USS Enterprise, commanded by Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his science officer, Spock (Leonard Nimoy).

Part of the “Star Trek” franchise, “The Next Generation” was a success with audiences and critics, being recognized as one of the best series on North American TV.
