In the press conference following Flamengo’s 1-0 victory over Fluminense, Tite praised the excellent collective work of the players, who never lost concentration and translated what they worked in training onto the pitch.
“It was a match between two great teams. Fluminense has one of the best seasons in the Libertadores. But we saw that Flamengo deserved to win. The team was always well positioned. Both in the goal kick and in the midfield dispute. Furthermore, we managed to do it straight away, with the wingers coming out compact. It was gratifying to know that at the end of the match everyone saw and knew that the team deserved the three points.”
Tite spoke again about the wear and tear on the team. But physiology is helping a lot so that the team can minimize physical problems.
Tite and tiredness with so many games in a short time
Congratulations to the technical committee and the medical department who asked the athletes to concentrate earlier than normal, eat special foods for the recovery process and minimize fatigue. But even so, David felt his knee at half-time and asked to leave. I have respectfully complained about the time between matches and have received criticism from the CBF. But I won’t change what I said. It is important that this is analysed”, said Tite, reporting an example that happened in the match against Fluminense:
“With fatigue we lose precision in shots and passes, a sign that wear and tear is taking place. And we lost that precision against Fluminense.”
