15 years ago, almost to the day, Michael Jackson left us. The King of Pop died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50. To commemorate the singer, a biographical film will be released in cinemas in 2025. Here’s everything we know so far about the movie, simply called Michael.
Written by John Logan, who notably collaborated with Martin Scorsese (The Aviator, Hugo Cabret) and Sam Mendes (Skyfall, 007 Spectre), the film will be produced by Graham King, who is responsible for the successful Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.
What will the movie say?
With a sober title MichaelDirector Antoine Fuqua says he will retrace the superstar’s journey without avoiding his dark side. The film is expected to chronicle the rise of the artist, from his beginnings with the Jackson Five to his death at the age of 50.

You will have to wait until 2025 to discover a biography dedicated to Michael Jackson. The movie Michael directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jafar Jackson will be released on April 16, 2025 in France.

Jafaar Jackson, 27, is a singer and songwriter and the son of Jermaine Jackson, who was also a member of the Jackson 5. Jafar has been singing and dancing since the age of 12 and became famous for covering songs by Sam Cooke and Marvin. Gay before releasing his own titles.

Will the movie talk about the singer’s gray areas?
Notably, allegations of pedophilia plagued the singer’s final years, until his death in 2009 at the age of 50 from cardiac arrest caused by a cocktail of sedatives. On the set of Good Morning America last August, director Antoine Fuqua promised that his film will appeal to “The good, the bad and the ugly“, or”The good the bad and the ugly.”

We’re going to tell a story. Michael Jackson and cinema
The singer has been the subject of various documentaries and has also been known to receive special attention for her music videos, often mini-musical films such as Thriller directed by John Landis or Bad directed by Martin Scorsese. A new wave of biography
