How to make vegetable milk at home: 4 types
Learn how to make plant-based milk from melon seeds, tahini, peanut butter, and pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
Melon seed milk
Melon seed milk is one of my favorites and it doesn’t cost anything because you would throw away the seeds!
So, next time you buy melon, after you eat the fruit, use the seeds to make milk. It doesn’t do much, but a glass of milk is better than no milk at all.
Plus, it’s rich in calcium and magnesium, making it a nutritious and easy-to-prepare option:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup melon seeds
- 1 cup of water at room temperature
Preparation method:
- Blend in blender for 2 minutes.
- Subject to tension.
- Then you can drink now.
Duration:
- 3 days in the refrigerator.
Tahini Milk
Made with tahini, a sesame paste rich in calcium and magnesium, this milk is extremely nutritious. This is because it contains, on average, 20 times more calcium and magnesium than cow’s milk.
Plus, it’s super easy and doesn’t even require any effort.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 200 ml of warm water
Preparation method:
- Blend everything in the blender until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- Then it is ready for immediate use.
Peanut Butter Milk
It is one of the most practical plant milk options because it does not spoil. So, you can adapt it to your needs.
Plus, it’s perfect for traveling – just bring along the jar of peanut butter and a shaker.
Finally, it is a very economical recipe, because it produces many liters of milk, and it is super protein, a common concern with plant-based drinks.
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 500 ml of warm water
Preparation method:
- Blend in blender for 30 seconds.
- No coercion is required.
Pumpkin and sunflower seed milk
Highly protein-rich thanks to the protein content of the seeds, this milk is ideal for those looking for a nutritious and easy option for preparing plant-based milk at home. The seeds contain on average 20 g of protein per 100 g.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup hulled and toasted pumpkin seeds (unsalted)
- 1/4 cup toasted sunflower seeds (unsalted)
- 300 ml of lukewarm water (it is important that the water is lukewarm, because the heat will help the friction to release the fat from the seeds and make the milk creamier)
Preparation method:
- Blend in blender for 2 minutes.
- Subject to tension.
Duration:
- Up to 7 days in the refrigerator.
