When will Star+ end?

To date (26), Star+ content has been integrated into Disney+, offering users a unified streaming experience. The merger, announced by Disney last year, aims to consolidate content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and ESPN onto a single platform. This means that Star+ as a separate service will no longer exist.

Star+ closing date

The Star+ website and app will be available until July 24, 2024. After that date, users will need to sign in to Disney+ to continue watching content previously available there, including live sports from ESPN.

Transition details

Star+ subscribers can log in to Disney+ using the same credentials. Starting this Wednesday, Star+ subscribers will have access to Disney+ Premium, which includes Star content and ESPN sports broadcasts.

The platform warns that profiles, My Lists and viewing histories will not transfer to Disney+.

Impact for Combo+, Disney+ and Meli+ subscribers

Combo+ subscribers will also be migrated to the Disney+ Premium plan starting June 26, 2024. Current Disney+ subscribers will have access to the Premium plan at no additional cost, integrating Star+ and ESPN content.

Additionally, subscribers to Mercado Livre’s Meli+, which gave access to both streams, now automatically upgrade to the Disney+ Standard plan.

Plan and pricing changes

From 26 July 2024 there will be an adjustment in prices, which will affect new and old subscribers, unless changes or prior cancellations are made.

Streaming has already said goodbye on social media

Despite only being discontinued at the end of July, Star+ has already officially said goodbye on social media. Official streaming profiles now invite their followers to migrate to Disney+ pages.
