OR Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddadmet this Thursday 27th with members of the Coalizão Indústria group and defined that it plans to repeat the meetings every 90 days, according to the people who participated in the conversation, in São Paulo.

The meeting, according to one interlocutor, was fruitful because there were only seven people in the office of the head of the economic team and there was time for everyone to discuss the reality of their respective sectors – and also for the minister to question the interlocutors and declare your positions.

“In fact, what we did was show the minister a faithful portrait of what happens in the factory. Normally he meets with large associations who, however good the intentions, are not aware of what happens on the day the factories We show our concern about revenue, employment, the level of utilization of the installed capacity of the sector, credit and everything that has impacted the activity of the sector,” said one of the participants.

A second person reported that at this Thursday’s meeting, issues deemed more sensitive were not addressed, such as the quid pro quo agreed by the government with Congress to present an alternative to the restitution of the provisional measure that limits the compensation of tax credits relating to PIS /Pasep and Cofins.



“This discussion is happening in Congress,” one industrialist said, noting that the meeting focused on presenting data on the industry’s performance over the past few months and sharing a market thermometer on what to expect for the rest of 2024.

“It was a frank conversation, in which we confirmed the need for more frequent contact with the minister to convey our ideas to the government,” said another interlocutor. According to him, the minister was interested in the economic performance data presented by each sector.
