Code Quantum remake coming soon to M6
Outside of this pre-school conference, M6 also announced the acquisition of Code Quantum, a reboot of the iconic 90s series, which will be released in September 2022 on NBC, this series takes place 30 years later under the leadership of Raymond Lee. The Trouble with Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula).
Today, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song, is resuming the project in hopes of understanding the secret of the particle accelerator’s operation, created in 1989, and finding its creator.
After an unauthorized leap into the past, Ben finds himself in a time spiral, moving from life to life and era to era. His colleagues remaining in the present will try to understand his gesture and bring him home. They will have to act fast or risk losing it forever.
Is Scott Bakula back?
Unfortunately for fans of the first hour of Quantum Code, Scott Bakula will not be returning for this sequel.
“I have nothing to do with the series either in front of the camera or behind it“- explained the actor a few weeks before the start of the series. “The pilot was sold in January and they sent me the script because Sam Beckett’s character was in it, so what’s the point, right?“
“As many of you have asked me over the past few months, ‘How can they do a quantum leap without Sam?’ (Or Al, for that matter). Well, I think we’re about to find out. That’s the whole story.”
“As the series has always been very dear to me, it was not an easy decision not to participate in the project.” In his message, the actor again wanted to wish success to his successors.
As of now, M6 has yet to announce an official broadcast date, but it should be airing in the coming months.
