The Girona striker and the Porto winger started in Las Vegas and contributed to the 4-1 victory over Paraguay
starters in Brazil’s 4-1 win against Paraguay this Friday (28), Wendell and Savinho had outstanding performances during the match. The Girona (ESP) striker even scored his first goal for Brazil and described the emotion.
“I scored the goal and I couldn’t even believe that I was scoring for the national team. I only went to celebrate after the referee confirmed it to VAR, but despite that I was confident that it wouldn’t be disallowed,” Savinho said.
The best wine in the world
Savinho also praised the great performance of Vinícius Jr. With a brace, the number 7 was key to the Brazilian’s victory. The Girona striker stressed Vini’s importance to the team and made himself available to help the Real Madrid star in the fight for the Copa América title.
“I have no words to say about Vini. He is well aware of the importance he has in the national team. Vini is our best in the world! I will do my best to help him and he knows how much he can give so that we can achieve great things together”, he concluded.
Wendell was also the one who praised Vinícius’ magical night. Shared with the striker, the left-back praised the performance of the number 7 and, like Savinho, believes that Vini will be key in the competition.
“Vini has been playing very well since the first games of the Dorival cycle and today he confirmed what he has been doing all this season. I hope that together we can reach the final and win the Copa América and that he can be named the best player in the world,” said Wendell.
The focus is Colombia
Now all eyes are on the match against Colombia, the current group leader, and Wendell expects a complicated duel. “It’s a team that is playing very well, they beat us in the qualifiers. I think we are prepared for a great match. We will respect Colombia, but I think they will respect us too,” he concluded.
Brazil and Colombia will face each other next Tuesday (02), at 22:00 (Brasilia time), at the Levi’s Stadium, in Santa Clara. Second in Group D, with 4 points, the Seleção needs to win to secure the leadership and a more comfortable path in the search for the Copa América title.
