The severe cold wave of late June and early July 2024 has set new cold records in Brazil this year

The intense cold front that was advancing over Brazil brought a strong mass of cold air, of polar origin, which lowered the temperature on Sunday 30 June, across the entire Southern Region and part of the South-East.

Temperatures measured on June 30 were the lowest of 2024 so far in the southern states and set new low temperature records in Brazil for this year.
