Did Armie Hammer become a concierge at a luxury hotel in the Cayman Islands? That’s the rumor that has been circulating on Twitter in recent days after a strange flyer appeared.
After leaving films due to allegations of sexual assault, actor Armie Hammer (known for his roles in The Social Network or Call Me By Your Name) became a concierge at a luxury hotel. In the Cayman Islands, according to a crazy rumor that has exploded on the Internet in recent days.
This fake news, which originated as a simple joke at the hotel complex where Armie Hammer would be employed (Moritt Resort), started with a tweet on the producer’s account. Muna Mirewhose parents were staying at the hotel in question.
We can see a photo of the flyer, intended for the customers of the establishment, and featuring the face of the actor, who greets them with the following lines:
“I am your personal concierge and I am here to help you have the best vacation ever. (…) I will provide you with free information about different places on the island: where to swim with wild turtles, the best places to snorkel at reasonable prices (…).”
Shortly after posting the tweet, variety was able to contact Armie Hammer’s lawyer, who assured them it was all bullshit. Indeed, after playing a few rounds of golf with the comedian, staff at Morritt’s Resort would make a fake flyer from scratch and distribute it to several rooms in the establishment to gauge reaction.
No doubt, they didn’t expect their little prank to be met with such a response on the Internet.
