Voiceless 3: Did you spot this character already in the second movie?

Warning, this article contains spoilers for “Quiet: Day 1” and “Quiet 2.”

Quietly: Day 1 is currently available in theaters. Michael Sarnoski’s feature film takes place before the events of John Krasinski’s The Quiet (2018) and The Quiet 2 (20214).

This prequel by Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn and Alex Wolff takes place on the first day of an alien invasion of New York. A sick young woman finds herself stranded in New York City when the creatures arrive. Everyone will have to learn the rules of survival the hard way to escape the monsters.

At the beginning of the film, Samira (Lupita Nyong’o) is at the hospice center. His nurse (Alex Wolff) offers him a trip to the theater. Although reluctant, the latter finally agrees to go. In the theater hall, he sits with the cat on his knees behind a family consisting of a couple and a small boy who keeps turning around to pet the cat. Dad returns to apologize.

A character that makes a connection

In the press kit for Quietly: Day 1, the director Michael Sarnoski Explanation: “Henry is the key that connects the two worlds of the Sans un Noise franchise. In Sans un Noise 2, he tells the story of the day aliens landed in New York. Henry was such a believable character that I decided to bring him back. I always felt something was off Henri and now we’re learning what it was on stage, he brought so much intensity.

On the other hand, Djimon Hounsou talks about his character: “When all hell breaks loose, he immediately realizes that the way we live, the way we relate to each other, has to change dramatically. Michael was great to work with. He’s such a gifted storyteller.”.

And unlike Quietly 2, in which his character can speak because the island is isolated from the creatures, the actor had to be silent for 1 day. He explains that he found the silent communication exhausting. “It was actually much more difficult for me. I did a scene that was so intense that I had to repeat it a few times just to kill myself.“
