Although Season 4 just ended on Crunchyroll with the end of the Pillar Training arc, Demon Slayer is already announcing a sequel! Fans will be in heaven as the anime will be given a decent ending with 3 movies coming straight to theaters.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute these feature films in theaters, according to their press release. The final arc will be called Infinite Castle.

A trilogy for demon slayers!

“Demon Slayer is a phenomenal franchise and we’re all excited to be a part of this journey from its inception to the most epic and culturally significant of our time.”said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll.

To remind you, Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime in the world. It is adapted from a manga created by Koyoharu Gotoge, with a total of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies sold.

The story follows Tanjiro, a boy whose family was destroyed by a demon. The latter joins the assassins to find a way to make his sister Nezuko, the only survivor of the attack, human again.

The franchise has already ventured into cinema with The Infinity Train. The film, which was released on May 19, 2021, attracted more than 727,000 viewers.

In Japan, the production became the biggest box office success in the country’s history, ahead of the likes of Spirited Away, Frozen, Titanic, Avatar and even Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In total, The Infinity Train earned $453 million at the worldwide box office!

At this time, no release date has been announced for The Infinite Fortress trilogy. Meanwhile, the entire anime is available on the Crunchyroll platform.
