The next Lord of the Rings? With 25 million copies sold, this successful game could become a movie!

Is there a movie adaptation of the video game Elden Ring coming soon? Released in February 2022, the action-RPG game from the collaboration of video game creator Hidetaka Miyazaki and writer George RR Martin, known worldwide “Game of Thrones” – May have feature film rights.

Having sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, the game, developed by Japanese studio From Software and published by Bandai Namco Entertaniment, was recently updated with Patch 1.12.2, which is meant to facilitate DLC. In this regard, designer Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke to several media, including a magazine GuardNo.

The British weekly asked the president of From Software if there were plans to adapt his game. The latter then replied that a fantasy role-playing game could very well spawn a motion picture.

There is interest, of course.

“I don’t see any reason to say no to another interpretation or film adaptation of Elden Ring. But I don’t think that I, or From Software, have the knowledge or the ability to create something in another medium. So that’s it, where there will be a very strong partner to come in. We have to build a lot of trust and agreement on what we’re trying to achieve, but the interest is certainly there.”

In the tradition of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones

To this day, we still don’t know if the studio is interested in such a film, but the world of the Elden Ring is rich, would be the material to create a world worthy of the Lord of the Rings saga or Game of Thrones series like you. You can see the game in the trailer below.

The Ring of Elden – which we wrote – takes place in the Inter-Earth Realm of Earth, some time after the destruction of the Circle of Elden and the disintegration of its fragments, the main runes. Once graced with the existence of the Circle and the World Tree, the realm is now ruled by the demigod descendants of Queen Marika the Eternal, each of whom has a shard of the Elden Circle that destroys and poisons them with its power.

The player takes on the role of a householder, an outcast from the underworld who has lost the grace of the circle he remembered after the Dissolution, who must traverse the realm to find all the key runes, restore the Circle of Elden, and become Lord of Elden.

While waiting to find out if Elden Ring will have the right to adapt it to the big screen, gamers will soon be able to discover a movie in The Legend of Zelda from director Wes Ball (The Maze Runner, Planet of the Apes: The New). Kingdom) is currently developing a feature film with Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
