Brazil’s oil production rose 3.9% in May from April, the first increase in six months from the previous month, according to a monthly production bulletin published Tuesday by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
Oil production volume reached 3,318 million barrels per day (bpd) in May, also up 3.6% from the same month last year.
In April, Brazil’s oil production averaged 3.194 million barrels of oil per day, the lowest volume in 12 months, according to data from the agency.
Natural gas production in the country, in turn, increased by 6.6% compared to April and by 0.8% compared to May 2023, to 145.63 million cubic meters per day (m³/d).
