A Housing and Urban Development Corporation (CDHU)linked to the government of São Paulo, will take over from Wednesday 3rd the Residencial Morar Bem 2 project, in Ferraz of Vasconcelosin Greater São Paulo. The works are the most delayed in the entire territory of São Paulo, according to a survey by the Court of Auditors of the State of São Paulo (TCE-SP). Initially scheduled for November 2009, the population is currently waiting for the delivery of 188 affordable homes. The project began in 2007. Ferraz de Vasconcelos is the first municipality after the end of the East Zone, bordering the capital.

The municipality of Ferraz de Vasconcelos states that the project began in 2007, with an investment of R$ 27.3 million from the federal government and R$ 2.7 million from the municipality, and that, from the beginning, it encountered difficulties in execution.

According to the municipality, the first company hired did not respect the contractual clauses, there was a deadline for the adaptation of the pipeline (TAC) with another company to complete the houses, but this one was also unable to fulfill the agreement due to “financial difficulties”.
