Vasco announces the hiring of a new football manager

Vasco announces the hiring of Marcelo Sant’Ana as football director. Marcelo arrives to replace Pedro Martins, who was fired at the end of last month.

On Tuesday night (03), Vasco announced the hiring of its new football director, Marcelo Sant’Ana. He replaces Pedro Martins, who left the club on June 20.

Marcelo arrived in Rio de Janeiro last Sunday and was already present at the CT Moacyr Barbosa, where he met the structure, the cast and the professionals of the Football Department.

Vasco’s new football manager is known for his work in Bahia, where he was president from 2015 to 2017, winning a Bahia Championship and a Northeast Cup. At the time, Marcelo was the youngest president among the clubs in the A and B series of national football.

Marcelo Sant’Ana was at América-RN, where he had been the sports director since February. It is worth noting that América is also a SAF.

In less than two years at SAF, Marcelo is Vasco’s fourth football manager. His predecessors were Paulo Bracks, Alexandre Mattos and Pedro Martins.
