Who will take control of the next episode of the James Bond saga? After Martin Campbell (Casino Royale), Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), Sam Mendes (Skyfall, 007 Specter) and Cary Joji Fukunaga (No Time To Die), which filmmaker will tackle Her Majesty’s super-spy adventure?
According to the journalist Jeff SnyderGerman director Edward Berger will be supporting the saga’s historic producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson. The director won the Golden Globe for Best Director in 2023 for the war film Nothing New in the West.
On the Oscar side, it also won 4 Golden Statues: Best Cinematography, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best International Film. Thus, the saga required the services of a famous director to return to the big screen. However, according to Jeff Snyder, this is not the only name circulating in the corridors of Hollywood.
David Michaud, the Australian filmmaker responsible for Animal Kingdom, War Machine and The King, will also be on the shortlist to produce the license. More surprising: Venom 3 director Kelly Marcel’s name would also be on the table for discussion.
At least for now, there is nothing official about a James Bond movie sequel yet. We still don’t know who will be the new face of 007 after Daniel Craig. Several names have been swirling in the rumor mill for months, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who would be the favorite. Also considered are Reg-Jean Page, Jack O’Connell, Richard Madden, Tom Hiddleston and James Norton.
To get to know the new face of Agent 007, you will have to be patient. Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson have yet to comment on the matter. And you, who would you see in James Bond’s tuxedo? We’ll let you weigh in on that!
