Christian Clavier and director Patrice Leconte are clearly an iconic collaboration: the one working on the timeless bronze trilogy. But what’s less well known is that the two men reunited in 2014 for another comedy that was unfairly overlooked. This comedy is a spin-off of the great feature film An Hour of Tranquility, which is currently a hit on Netflix.
An hour of peaceAdapted from Florian Zeller’s play by Fabrice Luchin, it tells the story of jazz lover Michel who has just discovered a rare album. He dreams of listening quietly in the living room, but the whole world seems to him: his wife untimely exposes him, his son suddenly appears, one of his friends knocks on the door, and his mother withdraws. He calls on his cell phone… Not to mention that day is the day of famous neighbors… Manipulator, liar, Michelle is ready to do anything for peace. Is a small hour of peace possible today?

It is funny, rhythmic, very well written and moved by A Christian Clavier Like a real comedy locomotive. Add to that a selection of actors including Carol Bucquet, Valerie Boneton, Rossi De Palma and Stephane de Grodt and you have a truly wonderful film, one of its great features being its length (1 hr. 19 including credits! ).
