Anticipation for ‘Deadpool 3’ is rising. Although the movie will be released in a few weeks (July 25), the most avid fans want to know all the details about the movie now, such as the cameos it will have or if it will have a special appearance by Taylor Swift.
Although, in the days leading up to the premiere of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, the information obtained has to do with the making of the film.
The condition set by Ryan Reynolds to make “Deadpool 3”
The road to creating “Deadpool & Wolverine” was not easy. In an interview with “Deadline,” director Shawn Levy revealed that Ryan Reynolds had one condition in advance of donning the anti-hero costume again: be the lead in the film.
This decision is not surprising, as Reynolds and Levy have worked together in the past, in the films “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project”.
In fact, it was during the filming of the second film that the actor made clear his intention to work together again: “Ryan told me that he only wanted to do Deadpool 3 if I directed it. And I remember him saying, “I know, I know, you’re going to say no.” And I told him: “I’m not going to say no. I’ll definitely say yes.”
Hugh Jackman was key to making ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
Even after bringing Shawn Levy into the project, Ryan Reynolds had trouble doing it. In an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter,” the two recalled that they had been working with “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2” writers Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese and Zeb Wells for months, thinking of a new story.
However, none of them convinced them and they were to tell Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, that “it wasn’t the right time” to make the film “because they couldn’t think of any story”.
In that moment of despair, Hugh Jackman saved them. Call Ryan Reynolds with a suggestion: make “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
The actor had been wondering what was the next challenge in his career and realized that this project sounded interesting to him. Plus, being paired with Deadpool would allow him to explore a bolder side of Wolverine.
In his next meeting with Feige, Reynolds told him what he had on his hands and convinced him that this was the direction to go. Fans will be able to find out the result on July 25 when the film is released.
