Who was Jane Grey?

Jane Grey, known historically as Joan I of England, was a controversial figure whose short reign and tragic end made her an icon of English history.

Regarded as one of the most intelligent and cultured women of her time, she reigned for 9 days and during her short tenure faced a political dispute over who would be the final heir to the throne of a destabilized England.

However, the pleasure did not last long, she fell victim to the ambition of those closest to her and was beheaded.
