The former president is in Balneário Camboriú to participate in CPAC Brasil and did not speak to the press or to the voters who were in front of the hotel where he is staying
Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) dined with political allies and supporters on the evening of Friday 5th in Balneário Camboriú (SC). He is in town to attend CPAC Brasil, which will begin on Saturday, and will be attended by the President of Argentina, Javier Milei.
The reception, which began around 8 pm in a downtown steakhouse, was organized by Governor Jorginho Mello (PL) and the son of former President “04”, Jair Renan, a pre-candidate for city councilor.
Also present were Senator Jorge Seif (PL) and Minas Gerais state deputy Bruno Engler (PL), as well as former Environment Minister Ricardo Salles (PL) and city mayor Fabrício Oliveira (PL). The dinner was closed to the public, but some supporters in attendance managed to take pictures and talk with the former president.
Bolsonaro then went to the hotel, located on Avenida Atlântica, facing the beach. He got out of the car and headed toward the entrance of the building, when he was surrounded by Bolsonaro supporters who were waiting for him there under the observation of the Military Police and the Municipal Guard. Greeted with cries of “myth” and “Lula out”, he did not speak to the press.
The former president was indicted on Friday 4 by the Federal Police for alleged crimes of embezzlement, criminal association and money laundering. According to the PF, he allegedly stole the jewelry donated by Saudi Arabia to the Presidency of Brazil and sold it to keep the money from the operation.
Milei is expected in town on Saturday night, when he is scheduled to have dinner with Bolsonaro and Jorginho Mello. In the former president’s hotel, an Argentine flag hangs on the entrance steps next to the Brazilian one.
The report of the State While checking into the hotel, he caught a guest complaining that friends who had stayed at the same hotel as Bolsonaro had received VIP bracelets for CPAC Brasil.
