On the 30th anniversary of Hook’s release, rediscover your child’s soul to be able to perform unsuccessfully in this 100% Steven Spielberg quiz. Can you find out in which director’s film these children appeared?
We no longer need to introduce Steven Spielberg, the multi-Oscar winner who dominated Hollywood and world cinema from the TV movie Duel in the early 70s and the last remake of West Side Story that hit our screens last December. This filmmaker was often referred to as an eternal dreamer who would keep his son’s soul throughout his career. And it is probably no coincidence that children are also represented in the master’s filmography.
It is that beyond fiction, often in his films, the director attaches great importance to the family unit. From the third type of conflict that erupted in 1977, we can see that three children of the Ner family suffered as a result of conflicts arising between the parents. In 1982, the blockbuster ET, an unearthly, offered the lead role to Henry Thomas, who would play the role of Elliot in the film with Drew Barrymore and Robert McNaughton, his sister and his brother. We also remember Indiana Jones’s companion, a kind of crescent in the second part of the saga of the famous adventurer-archaeologist, Indiana Jones, and the Cursed Temple.
The kids will then continue to star in Spielberg films. We are clearly thinking of Peter Pan, a hook adaptation whose 30th anniversary we are celebrating this month, in which Robin Williams, Julia Roberts and Dustin Hoffman were surrounded by very young actors. In 1993, Tim and Alex tried to escape the dinosaurs’ sharp claws in Jurassic Park. Finally we can think of a young robot David from AI artificial intelligence played by Haley Joel Osment, who we have already seen in the movie Interpretation of Tom Hanks’s son in Forrest Gump and in sixth sense next to Bruce Willis.
That’s why kids are everywhere in Steven Spielberg’s creations. Take a look at the filmmaker’s filmography with this eleven-question quiz for young and old alike.
