The Hijacking of Flight 375 and Mussum, Filmis lead nominations for the Grande Otelo Award

The Brazilian Academy of Cinema has announced the productions nominated for the 23rd edition of the award, which will take place in August in Rio de Janeiro

The Brazilian Academy of Cinema announced, last Friday (5), the nominees for the 23rd edition of the Great Othello Award — formerly known as the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro -, one of the greatest honors in national audiovisual.

With twelve nominations each, The Hijacking of Flight 375, based on a stunning true story, and Mussum, the Filmisa biopic of the comedian who was part of Os Trapalhões, are the highlights of this year’s edition, which is scheduled for August 28, at Cidade das Artes, in Rio de Janeiro, and will be broadcast on Canal Brasil and YouTube.
