“Despicable Me 4” Has a Roaring Debut and Breaks Records in Brazil

Despicable Me 4 has already set a new record in Brazil. The new animated film from Illumination and Universal Pictures premiered with more than 1.5 million viewers and approximately R$ 31 million at the box office, making it the biggest debut of the franchise in the country.

In the new film’s plot, Gru (Steve Carell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) have acquired a new family member: Gru Jr., whose goal is, essentially, to torment his father. In addition to dealing with parental duties, the protagonist must still deal with the threats of a new villain duo formed by Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara).

Despicable Me 4 It also features new characters from the franchise, voiced by Joey King (High speed train), Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) and Chloe Fineman (Saturday night live). Pierre Coffin returns as the iconic voice of the Minions and Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom.
