Reverse 2 debuted in Brazil at the end of June with a lot of expectations. And in a very short time it has surpassed them all. The animation has already become the third biggest film in the country in the entire historical series.

Last week, the sequel to Pixar’s 2015 film became the third highest-grossing animated film in the United States. The film also set records and is the biggest debut since Barbie in the country, in addition to the world’s largest box office in 2024, surpassing Dune 2.
In the United States, animation has reached the threshold of $489 million (over R$2.6 billion). The collection places the film ahead of Finding Dory, which totaled $486 million in 2016.
It continues to lead the biggest opening for an animated film in North American theaters The Incredibles 2 (2018), with 608 million dollars (about R$ 3.3 billion). The film is followed by Super Mario Bros.: The Movie (2023), with $574 million.
Directed by Kelsey Mann, the new Pixar film introduces Riley as a teenager filled with new emotions, including anxiety, envy, shame and boredom. In the universe of her mind, the girl’s feelings are shown in the form of characters, namely: Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. They live in the headquarters of Riley’s mind and try to help her as she struggles to adjust to the many changes in her life.
The original film won the 2016 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as receiving a nomination for Best Original Screenplay. In reverse remains available on Disney+.
