The Automotive Hub is already preparing for the biohybrid era
Since its inauguration in 1976, the Stellantis Automotive Hub in Betim, Minas Gerais, celebrates 48 years of activity this July 9. The Hub has already produced more than 17.5 million vehicles, of which more than 4 million are destined for export to 37 different countries.
The factory currently employs around 16,000 people and has more than 120 regional suppliers. In addition, six Fiat models are also produced at the Polo – Strada, Argo, Mobi, Pulse, Fastback and Fiorino – and Peugeot Partner Rapid.
Looking ahead, the hub is preparing for a significant technological and production leap with the introduction of a new engine line. This expansion will allow the production of up to 1.1 million engines per year, including flexible and hybrid units, as part of a robust investment of R$ 454 million. These engines will equip future Stellantis launches, especially models with the new Bio-Hybrid technology, which is scheduled to hit the market by the end of this year.
Furthermore, an ambitious plan for the coming years was revealed, with an investment of R$ 14 billion, which is part of a total investment of R$ 32 billion destined for South America from 2025 to 2030. This historic investment will stimulate the launch of 40 new products and 8 new engines.
