True Crimes – the English term for public interest crime stories – is not slowing down. Evidence from Under The Bridge, a Disney+-powered series that chronicles the murder of 14-year-old Rina Virk, who died on November 14, 1997, in Saanich, Canada.
At first glance, this news is similar to many other similar tragic stories. However, Under The Bridge focuses on a case where most of the perpetrators – six teenagers in total – are girls. When the whole country became interested in the case, a wave of panic arose due to the increase in violence against women.
